Addendum A: Once midpipe cats were gutted and the chambers were stuffed with a custom-cut pipe insert, the other end of this pipe was rattling against the inside of the catalytic chamber and causing a notable noise of irritation.Here is the link to the process defined last night: [ http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1127698 ] Solution: Drill a 1/8" pilot hole followed by a 1/2" hole into the front section of the catalytic chamber. This can be done on the ground with the car jacked up or on a lift. This hole will create a means to access the end of the pipe and fill the hole in with weld, beginning at the center of the hole and filling in from the insert until the hole has sealed. This will fix the end of the pipe to the catalytic chamber and prevent rattling. HEre are some pics:
